Radley to Compete in Southern Athletics League in 2012

After considerable deliberations, and weighing up the full details of the options available, the Committee have decided that for 2012, they will enter a team in the Southern Athletics League (SAL) instead of the Southern Women’s League (SWL) and Southern Men’s League (SML).

This decision has not been made lightly and with some regret, however we believe it will benefit the Club longer term and provide more appropriate competitive opportunities for out athletes.

SML 13 August 2011 - Match 5 Horspath, Radley win the league

This last match of the season ended us a huge top of the table clash with Radley AC (who were topping the division) taking on 2nd placed Wycombe and 3rd placed Basingstoke, whilst local rivals Oxford (in 4th place) were also at the same venue (but different match).

SML 30 July 2011 - Match 4 Yeovil

With over a dozen athletes unavailable for this match this was always going to be a tough one!
Just 11 Athletes made the trip to Yeovil.

SML 9 July 2011 - Match 3 Poole

Another impressive win saw Radley’s men’s team go top of the table in the SML Div 2
Radley’s youngsters did the Club proud when stepping into the breach as regular older athletes were ill, became injured, or unavailable on the day. The U17s had a great day, with 2 CRs being broken; Joe Finch in the TJ (12.08m) and Jordan Dorrian in the 200m (22.7).

SML 4 June 2011 - Match 2 Tilsley Park

This second SML match of the season brought local rivals Radley and Oxford together in their first ever head to head. The match was close throughout the day with just a few points separating the teams and the match could have been won or lost on the final event of the day (the 4 x 400m relay).

SML 7 May 2011 - Match 1 Horspath

Radley men’s team had a superb start to the 2011 track season with a win in their first ever match in Division 2.

The day was dominated by the long jumpers. Multi eventer Ossy Muskwe smashed his own LJ CR by nearly 20cm to jump a massive 6.87m. B string Dan Johnson also leapt to a huge pb to register 6.40m and U17 Jordan Dorrian equalled the U17 CR of 6.10m.

SML 31st July 2010 - Tilsley

Radley AC men’s team produced another impressive display in their final Southern League Division 3 match of the 2010 season to win their match comfortably by 12 points.

Excellent performances at SML, Portsmouth

In the penultimate SML match of the season, Radley’s mens team produced another great performance to win their match at Portsmouth despite having tough competition from 3rd placed Southampton and the home team Royal Navy. It was a fantastic team effort that won the day but this was helped by some great individual performances.
