SEAA U15/U17 Indoor Championships 18 January 2014

5 go to Indoors!

PBs and good competition abounded for the 5 Radley athletes pictured, Petrina and Luisa Chantler Edmond, Alice Hopkins, Blake Strickland Bennett and Stefan Hamblin.

Petrina started the day off for us with a 5th place in the u15 girls shot and a new PB of 8-67mts. Meanwhile sister Luisa was lying 3rd in the u17 shot with her new PB of 10-73mts until she was beaten by the last throw of the competition into 4th place.

Alice ran 9-47sec in the u17 women hurdles to get into the semi final - unfortunately she then hit the first hurdle with the wrong leg and came 6th. However the girl she beat in last years inter counties came 2nd in the final so she took solace in that fact. Blake ran a new PB of 2-31.1 in the 800mts to finish 6th in the final of the u15 boys.

Stefan was drawn in a tough heat of the u17 mens 200mts but he still managed a new PB of 25.87sec finishing 16 out of 40 runners.

Petrina then finished the day off with a new 200mts PB of 29.99 sec. Overall a great set of results and a few indications of potential for both the coming track season and the indoor nationals In Sheffield in March!
