SAL Match 5 - Tilsley Park, 10 August 2013

Radley's senior team again pulled together for another great team performance to finish runners up in Division 1 after only being promoted to the division last season.

The team was thin on the ground due to holidays and an intercounties the next day. However that didn't stop Radley only missing the match win by 4 points.

Highlights of the day came in the mens sprint events. David Gain, returning from injury in style won the 200m in 21.39 for a CR and Division record as well as man of the match honours.  David also came 2nd in the 100m with 10.87. Team mate Jordan Dorrian (U20) clocked 10.99 to win the B string 100m in a CR time. In the sprint hurdles Ashley Johnson ran a pb, CR and League record clocking 14.49. Fellow hurdler Richard Baderin won the B string in 14.77.  Gain, Dorrian and Johnson were also joined by Ben owen for a potentially league record-breaking relay performance however their plan were scuppered when Johnson pulled his hamstring with 80m to go - however the team still won in 44s. Elsewhere on the track James Cody ran a personal best in his 800 (1.58.05).

On the field Ossy Muskwe, tired from completing 3 Decathlons in 3 weeks, still managed an impressive discus throw of 49.32 and a 4.20 PV.   U17 javelin thrower Tom Anstice continued his good form with the senior weight winning the event with another throw over 51m.

The final result on the day was Radley 194 and Chelmsford 198.
