SAL Match 1 – Parliament Hill, 25 April 2015

Radley travelled to Parliament Hill for their first SAL fixture of 2015.

The small team rallied to gain a second place behind a very strong Harrow team.

The strength of the day was the women’s throws – where we amassed a total of 30 points out of a possible 32 across the 4 events only dropping points in a very strong javelin competition.

Fellow thrower Hannes Petzer gained a Pb in his preferred event the javelin (49.66m) to win the B string with Tom Anstice throwing over 50m to come 2nd in the A string having just recovered form a serious back injury. Hannes also recorded a pb in the PV (2.20m).

The sprinters found the gusty conditions tricky but this did not stop Ramone Smith gaining a double win in the 100m and 200m and assisted the relay team to another win.

Overall a good team performance.
