Radley's Magnificent Masters
Three Radley athletes travelled to Hungary for the World Master Indoor Championships last week.
In the Men's 55 category Alastair Duncan competed in the 60m, in the heats he ran 8.26s which put him in the semi final where he ran 8.37s.
After a days break he ran in the 200m coming 2nd in his heat with a time of 26.54s, just falling short of qualifying for the semis. Later he ran the 400m coming 2nd in his heat with a time of 60.67s qualifying for the semi final where he ran faster – 59.30s.
Training partner Janice Ellacott had a busy week in the Women's 50 age group.
In the 60m heats she ran 9.2s and in the semi final ran 9.3s. Then came the 200m, where in the heats she ran a Pb of 30.4s and then in the semi final ran another PB of 30.27s.
Janice seemed to get stronger throughout the champs clocking more PBs, running 68.93s in the 400m semi final was enough to get her into the final where she finished 6th with a time of 68.28 PB.
Janice finished her week being part of the 4 x 200m relay team which won the bronze medal. Finally, Lyn Ahmet in the Women's 60 age group started the competition in the Triple Jump making the final 8 and finishing 6th with a seasons best jump of 7.42m.
The 200m was another seasons best, only just missing out by 1 place on reaching the semi final with a time of 35.89s finishing 13th overall.
Finally in the Long jump she finished in 10th place with another seasons best jumping 3.44m.
