Southern Men's League – 15 May 2010 - Plymouth

Joe Bibby - Posted on 17 May 2010

A very small team of just 7 Radley athletes made the long trip to Plymouth for the 2nd SML fixture of the season.
Despite the small numbers the team sprit was high and the team valiantly covered as many events as they could. Unfortunately competing against the top 3 teams in the league after the first fixture meant that the competition was fierce and  Radley could do no more finish in 4th place, but just a few points behind 3rd.

The highlight of the day was newcomer Osman Muskwe who competed in 5 field events and gained 1st places in 4 of them (HJ, TJ, LJ, Jav) and in doing so he also broke the Clubs TJ record by jumping 13.60m.  He also gained a 2nd place in the Discus and 3rd in the B string 200m.

Master athlete Mick Cottam also did the team proud by competing in the 800, 1500, 3000SC and 5000m to gain valuable points for the team.

This disappointing result means Radley drop down the league table, however they hope to move back up after their next fixture on 5 June at Swindon.
