SAL Match 3 – Horspath, 18 June 2016

A great team performance at our home division 1 fixture saw Radley’s Senior team win the match well clear of their nearest rivals Milton Keynes.

Highlights of the day came from master Ana Ramos-Villaverde who competed in two events less than an hour apart and achieved two huge pbs. In the 1500m she improved her time from 5.38.1 to 5.16.77. She then did the 2K s/c and improved her previous best by over a minute to record 8.40.39. Training partner 18 Year old Alex Miell-Ingram also achieved 2 pbs in both 800m (2.00.49) and 5K (16.29.64) knocking off over 20s from his previous 5K best. Ed Gronbech also continued his rapid improvement this year with 2 pbs in 800m (2.05) and S/C (7.16.02).

Other highlights came from U23 Jordan Dorrian who not only achieved a pb in his main event the 100m clocking 10.86 for the win but also amassed a huge 15 points for the team in individual events as well as run a leg in the winning 4 x 100m relay team. Sprint and relay team mate Eima Meade made his scoring debut for Radley and did so in style achieving 2 pbs in 100 (11.10) and 200 (22.36), almost achieving a double B string win but just missing out on the 100m by  a few 1000ths of a second.

There were other pbs and many sbs on the day - too many to mention specifically but these performances as well as those from the athletes returning from overseas all helped the team to an impressive win.

We hope this win will move us up in the division prior to the final 2 league fixtures.
