H of E Match 1 – Banbury, 10 May 2015
A superb day’s athletics resulted in Radley winning four out of six age group events as well as a substantial win overall. This was particularly creditable as this was the first match in Division 3 following last year’s promotion.
Apart from the overall team success, there were a number of highlights. Club records were broken by Ryan Craze in the U17 200m (22.4s), also an English Schools qualifying time, as well as the U17 men’s team in the relay (45.4s).
There were many personal bests, including Petrina Chantler-Edmond breaking the 10m barrier in the U15G shot for the first time, Oliver Stacey moving to 29th in the UK rankings with his 100m Hurdles time of 14.8s, and Marina Semple and Erin McMillan placing 3rd and 2nd respectively in the 13G hurdles. Alex Bosley (13B) threw a creditable 17.95m in his debut in the event. There were big personal bests for Harry New (U17M) in the 200m, Leah Brown (U15G) in the 200m, and Rory Sear (U15B) in the 300m. Brett Halsey (U15B) managed personal bests in all his three events (100m, 200m, and High Jump).
There were many other great best performances, and this bodes well for the future in this competition with the hope of further promotion.
