Radley take Birmingham by storm
Alexander Stadium 26 Apr 2015
Six medals – 4 gold a silver and a bronze was the reward richly deserved by the Radley squad who took ownership of the Birmingham Games. Alice Hopkins started the onslaught with a fantastic win in the 80 mt hurdles with a winning time that took her to 3rd on this year's UK ranking list.
A modest jump, by her standards was enough to secure the long jump silver at 5.31mts. Meanwhile Luisa Chantler took gold in both the shot and discus decimating the field in both competitions winning by over a metre in the shot and 6 metres in the discus. Relative new comer Oliver Stacey was not to be outdone by his female colleagues and promptly won the 100 mts hurdles in a new pb of 14.84s. This was given as a marginally windy time which just took the shine off what would have been a jump of 23 places up the UK rankings to 29. Petrina Chantler completed the medal haul with bronze in the long jump, despite still having a niggly ham string. Victoria Harte made the last 6 in the long jump and also had a good run in the 75 hurdles and placed well in the shot.
