Alpha Beta Trophy Meeting – 12 April 2015

Radley's Senior Ladies team battled against some strong competition as well as strong winds to come 3rd in their first team competition of the 2015 season.

The highlight of the day was newcomer to the team Christina Nick who threw a 2m PB to record 42.67m in the discus for 2nd place, she also came 2nd in the shot with 11.78m. Team mate and U17 Luisa Chantler-Edmond also recorded a PB with the heavier weight shot recording 11.10 for another 2nd place and gained valuable points in the discus B string with another 2nd (37.87m).

U17 Alice Hopkins maintained her great LJ form by winning the A string LJ in 5.43m. Faith Brew (also U17) came 2nd in the 1500m with 5.07.6. The only other win of the day came from Adela Hussain in the B string 100H.

In the U15’s the small Radley team did well to snatch 4th place especially as many were competing in events they don’t usually do. A great team event with some great performances too.

Victoria Harte improved her LJ to record 4.45m and her non scoring fellow athlete Leah Brown also got a PB in the LJ (4.24m). Victoria also gained valuable points with 2 × 3rd places (shot and 75mH.

Ella Lovibond recorded 2 PBs with the new weight in both discus and javelin with 18.34 and 21.74 respectively.

Kylah Rowlands ran a PB in her 200m (29.5) and also got good points in the 75mH and HJ.

The two teams came 3rd overall – a great start to the season.
