Ryan Smashes Club Record for Second Year Running!
A group of eleven Radley sprinters and jumpers took part in the Open Meeting at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham. Despite this being the first event of the season there were a number of successful performances. The highlight of the day was Ryan Craze’s run in the U17 60m, where he followed up last year’s Club record with a new mark of 7.23s, an improvement of nearly three tenths. He followed this up with a 200m time of 23.19s, some 8/10 better than his indoor best.
Matthew Coleman, competing as an U17 for the first time, had massive improvements in both 400m (53.52s) and 200m (23.87s), bettering his outdoor times from last year by nearly three seconds and 0.8s respectively.
There were many other personal bests achieved: U17 Harry New (200m 24.63), U15 Freya Gordon-James (200m 31.45), U15Livi Barnes (60m 8.62s), U17 Steph Mott (60m 8.75s), U15 Sam Nelson (200m 27.42s). Both Livi and Leah improved their indoor 200m times by well over a second.
With other strong performances from TJ McClimont, Katrina Hull, Leah Brown and Katy Brabbin, this was a great early season competition which bodes well for the months to come.
