SAL Match 3 – Hornchurch, 21 June 2014

This fixture saw a very small Radley team travel to Havering, Essex for their SAL fixture. There were a few individuals who excelled on the day the best of which was Aislin Baird who threw a masssive 2.5m pb in her hammer to record a best throw of 44.51m, winning the event by a large margin. Aislinn also recorded a pb in her discus later in the afternoon with a mark of 30.39m. Hannes Petzer also recorded 2 pbs, one in his main event javelin with a throw of 48.57m and the shot with 10.14m. Team mate Gwynn Wallace recorded a seasons best in the javelin for a double win (40.26m).

Other personal bests came from Gina Sunderland in the 100m (13.0), Adela Hussain in the Shot (9.77), Jess Anstice in the 800 (2.31.4).

Double wins were recorded in the men’s 200m (Jordan Dorrian and Ben Owen) and 4x100m relay with Joe Bibby leading the team to a majestic win. Due to the inability to fill gaps, despite the team rallying around and filling as many as possible, showing a superb team spirit, the team could only muster 135 points which was a disappointing result.
