Match report (Winchester)
RADLEY finished in third place in their final National Young Athletes League Southern 1 West meeting of the season at Winchester.
The result means that Radley ended the season in a respectable eighth place in the table out of 16 teams.
But despite that, Radley managed 25 first places in the girls’ section and 16 in the boys’ category.
Highlights included a grade one personal best of 1.56m for Hayley Perrin in the under 15 girls’ high jump.
Perrin also leapt 5.09m in the long jump – another personal best and grade one standard.
Her performances earned her the club’s athlete-of-the-day award.
Louise Brown made an impressive debut, sailing out to 9.93m in the triple jump.
In the under 17 girls’ triple jump, Sophie Henderson leapt 8.71m.
Newcomer Emily Philpott (under 13) excelled in the 75m, winning the race with 10.9 secs.
In the boys’ section, under 17 debutant George Lane threw an excellent 12.56m in the shot to take victory.
Dominic Kam smashed his personal best in the under 15 boys’ discus, throwing 29.72m to beat his previous best by almost five metres.
There was a grade one performance for Christian von Eitzen in the under 13 1500m with a time of 4.48.1.
Meanwhile, Chris Hewitt clocked a personal best of 2.23.5 in the 800m.
