O’Hara stars as youngsters come of age
Radley Athletics Club fielded it’s youngest ever teams for the Southern Women’s League ‘double header’ Premier and Division 1 matches at Guildford Spectrum on Saturday.

The youngsters acquitted themselves admirably, in what for many was their first taste of senior competition, with many achieving personal or season’s best performances. This speaks volumes for the club’s strength in depth and the confidence placed in the youngsters, many of whom also represented the club in the National Young Athletes League on Sunday.

Notable performances in the Premier fixture against Horsham, Guildford & Godalming and Windsor, Slough & Eton Harriers included:-

Under 17’s Hammer – Emma O’Hara – 46.56 metres (PB) – ranking Emma as the number one English under 17 Hammer thrower (picture right)
Senior Women 100m – Tara Kafke – 12.0secs
Senior Women 400m – Tara Kafke – 58.20secs
Under 15’s 200m – Gina Sunderland – 27.10secs
Under 15’s 75mH – Gina Sunderland – 11.90secs
Under 15’s Discuss – Kathryn Woodcock – 27.89 metres

Notable performances in the Division 1 fixture against Newquay & Par AC,Team Dorset and Team Kennet AC.

Under 15 800m - Charlotte Parish 3.01.1(pb) and Ellie Smith 3.03.4 (pb)
Under 15 1500m - Lauren Burton 5.56.7 (pb)
Under 15 100m - Stephanie Mott 15.3(pb)
Under 15 High Jump - Ellie Smith and Charlotte Parish both equal pb with 1.20
Under 15 Javelin - Abbey Cottam 17.70 (pb)
