Wallingford 10k Thames Run
The time has come to launch the 2011 Thames Run, a multi terrain 10k run around Wallingford, starting and finishing at Howbery Park. This year the event will take place on Sunday the 5th June at 11am.
The Thames Run is increasingly popular and we had over 500 runners last year raising money for a variety of charities. In addition we were able to donate nearly £6000 of the registration money to our main charity Cancer Research and our local charity St John’s School. So why not set yourself a challenge and run this year to help raise valuable funds. We will again be donating money to Cancer Research and the 2011 local charity is RAF Benson.
Last year’s run saw the introduction of chip timing, a new route avoiding the stile and two water stations and just some of the positive comments we received were ”friendly marshals”, “well organised” and “excellent facilities”. The facilities at Howbery Park for your supporters include activities such as face painting, pet’s corner, bouncy castle and a BBQ.
Registration is now open so please visit our web site, www.thamesrun.co.uk for further information.
In addition to runners we would like to hear from:
- And importantly, Volunteer marshals and general helpers.
