The outdoor track season starts in early April with the Radley Open meeting on the 11th for most of us (entry forms will be posted on the site as soon as they become available). Athletes should now have agreed suitable targets with their coaches for the 2010 season and developed a plan to achieve these agreed targets.
The last remaining winter competitions are the Oxford Mail XC League on 7th March at Shotover followed by the last indoor Sportshall league at Wheatley on the 21st.
Athletes should take note of this new rule.
Rule reads as follows (Rule 111.14/15)
in line with the change in IAAF rules the UKA rules have been amended. In all competitions for seniors (including those which might include younger athletes according to the rules but excluding open graded meetings). Any athlete deemed responsible for a false start shall be disqualified. In all other competitions, including masters’ events, the old UKA start rules will continue to operate.
Radley Juniors once again stood out from the crowd in the fourth round of the Oxford Mail Cross Country League at Cirencester Park.
The day started with Nawal Elkirate who won the under 11 girl’s race in 4.41, while Robert Crowther edged out Abingdon’s Robert McKenzie in the under 11 boy’s event.
Christian von Eitzen followed up his victory in the Oxfordshire Schools Cross Country Championship with a thumping win in the under 13 boy’s race. Von Eitzen crossed the line in 7.28 – more than 30 seconds clear of James Currah.
Congratulations to Emma O'Hara, Lois Waknell, Georgina Sunderland and Jacob Walton who were selected to represent Oxfordshire in the U13/U15 county team at the South Regional Sportshall competition at Burgess Hill on Sunday 14th February 2010. Good luck to you all.
