To mark the launch of the Oxfordshire Athletics Network an event was held at Oxford University’s Sports Centre on Iffley Road. The event took place on Wednesday 29th September in the rain, but despite the weather, many of our junior athletes turned up to run in the 4 minute race and the 1 mile relay around the famous track.
Lyn will be compiling the final rankings for 2010 shortly. If there are any results that have taken place outside club competitions (league matches) since the last set of rankings were issued they must be emailed to Lyn Ahmet by the 30th September to be included in the final set.
Ed O'Hara, coached by Alan Woodland, represented Oxfordshire at the English Schools Combined Events Finals in Stoke over the weekend. The team of Ed, Peter Barnshaw (Abingdon Amblers) and Marcus Woodington (Oxford City) finished second in the team event.
In the Individual Event Ed put together a series of outstanding performances. He managed 6 personal bests (including two club records).
During the second day he also had to cope with an ankle injury which looked like it might scupper his chances. He finished 4th following a brilliantly judged 1500m.

On the 14th August a team of athletes travelled to Perivale to take part in the annual Borough Trophies meeting to fly the flag for Radley. This year we won the women's Atalanta and girls' George French trophies. Also, Christian Von Eitzen won athlete of the match for the mile.
All those involved in our sport (coaches, athletes, officials and parents etc) are reminded that to ensure all involved remain safe and their health and wellbeing is uppermost in our activities, we all need to:
· Ensure good health & safety practices are adhered to.
· Athletes listen to their coaches and others and follow any instructions given at all times.
