If athletes wish to be considered for selection for the Oxfordshire Schools’ Track & Field Team, they MUST register their details on esaa.net by 12th June. This is new for 2011 and is in addition to the requirement to complete an availability form at the Oxfordshire Schools’ Championships on 12th June.
RADLEY’S versatile teenager Hayley Perrin won a gold medal in the Bracknell open.
Perrin triumphed in the under 15 high jump with a leap of 1.60m. She also gained a silver medal in the long jump with 5.10m and came fifth in the 100m final with a time of 13.8secs.
Lois Waknell took gold in the under 15 100m and captured a silver in the long jump.
Due to constrainsts being imposed by Tilsley Park we are not able to provide either a BBQ or cake stalll (as hoped) in order to raise funds at this year's open. We have therefore decided that we will hold a raffle in order to make a few pounds!
Due to the timeframes invovled in communicating this I am sending this to all coaches and asking you to notify your athletes that we are seeking donations of raffle prizes. (The forum on Wednesday will be too late)!
These can be brought to the track on either Wednesday (ideally) or Saterday if that's easier.
Date: Sunday 8 May 2011
Starts: 11 am
Entries open online: www.blenheim7k.co.uk
Please note our club fixtures on 7th, 8th and 9th May should take priority.
The run takes a scenic route around the trails and paths of Blenheim Palace, taking you past the Palace and over the Grand Bridge, before a spectacular lakeside section.
For many of the Clubs throwers the Arthur Killberry memorial meeting at Crookham Common was the chance to see how winter training had gone and get an early feel for outdoor throwing.
With 6 athletes taking part the club was well represented in many age groups and events.
I have a number of key things to advise you of:
• Coaches Development Day - 3 April (10-3pm) at Horspath. There will be 2 workshops (nutrition and Long Term athlete development) and a general session with athletes. If I get more detail I will let you know. No need to book as far as I am aware.
There has been a slight change to the date of match 5 of the Oxfordshire Indoor Sportshall League. The 5th fixture will now take place on Sunday 13th March (was 20th March) at Wheatley. Also, find the match 4 results here.
On Saturday Stuart Ferguson won the U20 Scottish Indoor title in the 1500m.
In a close fought race Stuart won in a time of 4:07.33
This completes a tremendous double as he also won the UK U17 1500m title in Birmingham in 2009.
Congratulations to Stuart on this tremendous achievement.
