The performances from the Radley athletes at the English Schools Championships over the weekend were truly outstanding. Our athletes won three medals : Emma O'Hara won a gold in the hammer after dominating the competition with four throws over 46m ; Lois Waknell won a silver medal in the 100m her finishing strength almost took her past the winner with only 4 hundredths of a second between them and Christian Von Eitzen won a bronze medal in the 800m his chance of gold was lost when another athlete impeded him as he was beginning his finishing sprint.
Radley clinched promotion to the premier Division of the McCain National Young Athletes League as they clinched their fourth win out of four at Tilsley Park.
Radley amassed 599 points to see off the challenge of Leamington and Gloucester in the final Midland Division 1 South East meeting of the season.
There were many notable performances, under 13 girl Freya Rowe finishing second in the 75m in a personal best of 10.9 secs.
