This last match of the season ended us a huge top of the table clash with Radley AC (who were topping the division) taking on 2nd placed Wycombe and 3rd placed Basingstoke, whilst local rivals Oxford (in 4th place) were also at the same venue (but different match).
Radley A.C. is planning to host a cross-country event for the 2011/2012 season. The location will be Tilsley Park and the surrounding fields. This location has never been used for holding a cross country event on this scale before; as a result we need to establish courses with appropriate lengths for the various age groups for the first time.
We are asking for any volunteers who are willing to help us measure the course lengths – especially people who have Garmin watches (GPS tracking watches for runners).
Please note this event is only open to Radley athletes.
This event will take place on Sunday 18th September 2011 at Tilsley Park, Abingdon.
Closing date for entries: Monday 12th September 2011
No entries after this date will be accepted and no entries on the day.
Photo finish and electronic time-keeping will be provided.
The SEAA U15 and U17 championships were held at Ashford in Kent over the weekend. Christian Von Eitzen and Emma O'Hara both maintained their excellent form and won the U15 Boys 1500m and U17 Womens titles.
In the 1500m Christian easily won his heat on Saturday and then returned with a dominating display on the Sunday to win the title with a time of 4:19.
In the Hammer Emma had a solid 46m throw in the fourth round to win the title by more than three metres.
Over the weekend the South Eastern Combined Events Championships were held at Tilsley Park.
In the Under 15 Girls event we were treated to a tremendous competition and the winner Morgan Lake set a new U15 All time record. Gina Sunderland and Kathryn Woodcock both competed in their first combined events. The competition could not have been tougher, Kathryn set 4 PB's in finishing 19th - as the commentator said at the end it was a pity that discus was not one of the events in the Pentathlon.

The Network is working with Run England to try and recruit and train more leaders to enable them to run local running groups which will eventually act as a feeder to the local clubs. This course has been organised locally to limit travel to those who are keen to attend. More information on the course and what it will enable those to do once completed can be found on the England Athletics website under coaching.
UKA and England Athletics are delighted to announce that Vitali Petrov, the coach to both the Men’s World Record Holder (Sergey Bubka – 6.15m) and the Women’s World Record Holder (Yelena Isinbeyeva – 5.06m), will be delivering a Masterclass in London on Saturday 6th August, 2011.
