The 3rd Brill Hilly 10k went off well supported by Radley athletes and helpers. Mick Cottam helped marshall and the organisation was all done by radley athletes. A record number of entries made this the most successful event so far with over 200 runners raising over £3500 for the Intsika Aids Charity. In the 1 k fun run Erika Davies was first lady home and she then helped to record all the 10k finishers - dad being amongst them as he warmed up for next weeks marathon.
All in all a great day well supported and a great success for the club.
The Cottisford 5k is organised by Alchester Running Club. The race is round 5 of the Oxon AA Grand Prix road race series, and takes place on Tuesday 14 May. Entry is online only and limited to 150 entries. Please see the attached document for details.
Luisa Chantler (u15) won the National Shot Putt championship in Birmingham on 23 Feb. The contest was between the two best shot putters in the UK in 2013 and Luisa just edged out her long time rival, Sophie Mace (Walton AC). Neither girl hit the distances they managed in the warm up competition at Swindon the previous week. Both threw well over 11mts consistently with Luisa finishing with 11.56mts to Sophie's 11.53mts. A great start to the year after recovering from serious knee surgery last November.
Our website has had a lick of paint over Easter. Since the site we had before was quite good I haven't changed much, but the most noticeable change is probably the new menu structure. All menu items are located in the top banner where you can expand them by hovering your mouse over the titles.
As mentioned before, we have decided to discontinue user accounts on this site.
We are hard at work preparing a new website for Radley AC that should be published within the next few weeks. User accounts, on the new website, will be discontinued therefore comment posting, image galleries and committee minuets will no longer be available.
