This year’s AGM is taking place on Friday 28 November at Abingdon School, Sports Centre starting at 7.30. This is your chance to be able to find out what has been going on in the Club during the past year, or to volunteer and become involved in the running of club. We would like to see as many athletes and parents there as possible so please come if you can.
We are looking for interested parties to go warm weather training in preparation for the 2015 athletics season.

Radley take part in a composite YDL U17/20 team arranged by the Oxfordshire Athletics Network. This team is currently unfunded and therefore relies on contributions from Clubs and athletes. In order to assist in raising much needed funds to support this team to ensure it is able to continue to provide competitive opportunities for our athletes we are looking for volunteers to help at this year's Abingdon Marathon (money is donated to charities and organisations in return for their help).
Congratulations to Alice and Richard Baderin who are proud parents of baby Solomon born last week. We wish them all the best.
Some days you wish you had pulled the duvet back over your head, turned the alarm off and gone back to sleep. THIS WAS NOT ONE OF THOSE DAYS!!
Championships are why you slog it out on the cold and wet and windy track all winter, in the hope that you can peak at the right time, put yourself against tough competition and come away with a new PB or even a medal or two.
With the Nationals only two weeks away it was important to have some good performances to give the girls confidence. They stepped up to the mark and all three had PBs and some were so good that medals ensued!
Radley athletes fared well in the final fixture of the Oxfordshire Track and Field League 2014. Both our U15 boys and girls teams came second and the U17 women finished first.
Results are attached.
Three masters ladies from Radley AC travelled to Izmir in Turkey for the European Championships and all fared well in the scorching heat, a lot of the time being 40+ in the stadium
Paula Owen W35 in her first European international championships continued her success from the nationals where she won a Bronze and a gold to produce two bronze medals, the first came in the 100m clocking a time of 13.03s then in what was a very closely fought contest in the 400mh came the second bronze with a time of 67.15s this was also a seasons best.
Radley athlete Ellie Hubbert was selected to represent the Midlands at the prestigious School Games in Manchester. Competing as a T36 disability athlete she raced against athletes in other disability categories, places being decided by a points grading system. Having been disappointed by her 100m run, Ellie put all her efforts into the 200m. Despite an initial false start, and a very safe second start, she emerged triumphant, her gold medal time equating to 583 points, with the silver medal athlete some 33 points behind.
